The fourth largest Austrian city and the world-famous hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg is situated along the banks of the Salzach river, in the northern Alps. Its "Old Town" is a wonderfully preserved Baroque jewel and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
